When you’re in the park, look around to see all the ways the system was designed and created using previously discarded items that are now utilized as something beautiful and new.
From learning how to transform household waste into energy through composting to gaining useful skills in how to grow food sustainably in the urban environment to live a healthier, more vibrant, and connected life, Heal The Planet is a resource for you in Snyder Park to start living a sustainable, natural life.

Upon entering Snyder Park, look to your right to see Heal The Planet’s satellite office and organic edible landscape garden. The garden is a demonstration site to tell a new story of how we design urban landscapes, from front yards to city parks. Stroll through the edible landscape garden and gain inspiration on how to transform your home environment into a beautiful, productive, and sustainable urban oasis. Be sure to take note of the abundant edible and medicinal perennial plants perfectly suited for our home in the tropics. Join us for one of our educational programs in the park to learn how to take cuttings from our garden to plant and grow in yours!
EDUCATION IN NATURE – Objective
Demonstrate ideal conditions for growing food to residents and visitors of Broward County.

Bring the permaculture principles to life through skill-building workshops and visual tools.
Teach sustainable soil building and waste reduction by utilizing resources in the local environment – sargassum seaweed, food waste, local mulch & biomass.
Educate and empower visitors to utilize waste as a resource – teach how to catch and store energy and repurpose waste through various composting methods.
