The SEED Program
A hands-on learning program designed to connect students with nature, our planet, and their place in it. The SEED Program takes a holistic approach at addressing ecological awareness, sustainability, mindfulness, identity, worthiness, and the power of choice.
Young SEEDs In the Park
Young SEEDs in The Park is a FREE 2.5-hour program held in nature for children ages 5-12. We teach children about nutrition, wellness, the power of choice, and how it can positively impact the health and wellbeing of themselves, and our planet.
THE SEED PROGRAM
Since its inception in 2014, the SEED Program, a six-week curriculum, takes a holistic approach to address ecological awareness and sustainability. This program has touched the lives of over 13,927 elementary and middle school students in South Florida Public Schools.
The SEED (Sustainable Energy EDucation) Program covers ecological awareness, sustainability, mindfulness, identity, worthiness, systems thinking, and the power of choice. Through these lessons we attempt to intrinsically motivate not only students but teachers as well, to make choices with a global impact in mind. It is our intent to create partnerships that not only allow us to work with groups but also create projects that reflect the themes we address in our lessons. In this way, participants take the concepts they have learned and can lead by example. Through partnerships with schools, other non-profit entities, and community agencies, we incorporate a strong, collaborative effort that enhances our planet's sustainable future.
Improving The Statistics
Our SEED Program is based mainly in Broward public schools, where many kids come from low-income families. When SEED Program Educators ask kids about eating habits at home, 80 percent of students say they eat primarily fast-food diets, leading to a high rate of children's diabetes and obesity. This issue will cripple our country's healthcare system if it is not brought under control. We understand the importance of changing these statistics. Introducing kids to healthier, easy-access whole foods such as vegetables and fruits is crucial for progress.
The SEED Program is an experiential, hands-on learning program designed to connect children with the natural world and their place in it.
Life Skills Acquired Through SEED Program:
Increased knowledge of sustainable living.
The power of our daily choices and how they affect us and the planet around us.
Awareness of making nutrient-dense food and understanding ingredients.
Knowledge of mindfulness techniques.
Understand the impact their thoughts and words have on the wellbeing of themselves, and others.
Increased connection to the planet.
More aware of the impact movement & and nutrition have on their overall well-being.
Experience has shown us that children and people of all ages are hungry for this information, and intrinsically understand the vital connection between healthy bodies, healthy minds, and a healthy planet. Our SEED Program aims to impart knowledge related to this mind body connection and to increase knowledge about our environment so humankind can thrive as a whole, on a more sustainable planet. Children are the future generation so it’s important to empower them with these vital life skills so they can make more conscious choices and create a healthy planet for all.

About The Program
School Partnerships
We create partnerships with schools that allow us to work within individual classrooms and create school projects that reflect the themes we address throughout the program. In this way, students receive experiential education, empowering them to carry this knowledge into their community. Through our partnerships with schools, community agencies, and other non-profits, we forge a robust and collaborative platform to uplift the consciousness of humanity.

YOUNG SEEDS IN THE PARK
About Young SEEDs
Bridging the gap between South Florida children and the natural world, Young SEEDs in the Park reconnects children with nature and teaches them life skills around the power of choice. They then blossom with environmental awareness, healthy dietary choices, and a flourishing mind.
The 2nd Wednesday & 4th Saturday of Each Month.
Young SEEDs in The Park is a FREE 2.5-hour program for children ages 5-12.
This program teaches children about nutrition, wellness, the power of choice, and how it can positively impact their health, and the wellbeing of our planet.
Workshops include gardening, food demonstrations and education, yoga and movement, breathwork, mindfulness practices, art, and more. During food demonstrations our educators introduce new vegetables to our young SEEDs, expanding their palettes and encouraging healthy eating. Food can be fun! For the gardening portion, our Young SEEDs like to get a little dirty, enjoying a hands-on experience such as planting, mulching, etc. Movement is always incorporated into the day before settling down for art and inspiration.
