July's Young Planet Leader - Stephanie Evans

Stephanie Evans is the 17-year-old founder of the organisation, “Seas of Change.” Seas of Change is an Australian organisation that aims to raise funds and awareness for a variety of marine and environmental conservation efforts, including dugongs, sea turtles, climate change and plastic pollution. Stephanie runs school talks, fundraisers and events in Australia, with one of their main focuses being to empower youth to take a stand for their environment and homes.

Stephanie has been fortunate enough to speak at many events and schools, attend a dugong research trip, been an Ocean Youth Ambassador, spoken at local and state parliaments, be a squad leader for Ocean Heroes Bootcamp (OHBC) in 2020 & 2021. She was also awarded Northern Beaches Council, 2021 Young Citizen of the Year and the Northern Beaches Eco Award for Youth Individual Achievement. Stephanie has also had the honour of speaking to, and mentoring, thousands of children to raise awareness of current environmental issues.
