Homemade Almond Mylk Recipes

Almond milk prepared from almonds is low in fat, but high in energy, proteins, lipids and fiber. It contains minerals like calcium, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, sodium, and zinc. The other nutrients available in this milk include vitamins such as vitamin C, vitamin B6, thiamine, riboflavin, niacin, folate and vitamin E. All these nutrients have various benefits which are essential for a healthy body. The health benefits of almond milk include the improvement of vision, weight loss, stronger bones, and a healthy heart. It also helps to build strong muscles, maintain ideal blood pressure, and support a properly-functioning kidney. It is also a good alternative for mother’s milk when nursing.

 

VANILLA ALMOND MYLK

INGREDIENTS: 

1 CUP SOAKED RAW ALMONDS

4 CUPS PURE WATER

3 WHOLE & PITTED MEDJOOL DATES

½ TEASPOON VANILLA EXTRACT

⅛ TEASPOON CINNAMON POWDER OR ONE DROP CPTG CINNAMON ESSENTIAL OIL

 

As little as 1/2 of one teaspoon of cinnamon can have positive effects on blood sugar levels, digestion, and overall immunity if consumed daily. Larger doses are also extremely beneficial as protection from heart disease and diabetes.

 

INSTRUCTIONS:

SOAKING:

  • Soak 3/4 cup of raw almonds for 8 hours in filtered water
  • Remove water, rinse the nuts inside a colander. Yields 1 cup of soaked “activated” almonds

PREPPING: 

  • Pour 4 cups of filtered water into the blender
  • Add 1 cup of activated almonds
  • Blend these ingredients together for about a minute on high speed setting
  • Pour the mylk through a nut milk bag to strain into a medium sized bowl
  • Squeeze the nut milk bag until the almond pulp is completely dry
  • Set pulp aside to store for use in other recipes!
  • Rinse the blender
  • Place mylk, pitted Medjool dates, vanilla extract, and cinnamon into the blender
  • Blend for a minute on high speed

 

CHOCOLATE ALMOND MYLK

 INGREDIENTS:

1 CUP SOAKED RAW ALMONDS

4 CUPS PURE WATER

4 WHOLE & PITTED MEDJOOL DATES

1/2 TABLESPOON OF RAW CACAO OR PLANT BASED VEGAN PROTEIN

 

INSTRUCTIONS:

SOAKING:

  • Soak 3/4 cup of raw almonds for 8 hours in filtered water

STRAWBERRY-PITAYA ALMOND MYLK

The health benefits of strawberries include improved eyesight, proper brain function, and relief from high blood pressure, arthritis, gout, and various cardiovascular diseases. The impressive polyphenolic and antioxidant content of strawberries make them good for improving the immune system, preventing against various types of cancers, and for reducing the signs of premature aging.

Pitaya, otherwise known as the pink dragon fruit, has a surprisingly high number of phytonutrients, is rich in antioxidants, contains large amounts of vitamin C, polyunsaturated (good) fatty acids, and several B vitamins for carbohydrate metabolism, as well as carotene and protein. The benefits are realized in a number of ways, from a strengthened immune system, to faster healing of bruises and wounds, and fewer respiratory problems.

1 TABLESPOON FROZEN  PITAYA

In conjunction with a known wellness center, Olga also offers customized meal plans based on clients’ unique nutritional needs, as determined through micronutrient deficiency testing.

Over the years, Ms. Gavrilenko has worked as a private chef for exclusive homes, dinner and event catering (recently catered fundraiser dinner for Democratic party with two U.S. Senators as attendees), a consultant, a restaurant manager, a detox program coordinator and a living-cuisine teacher.
