September 10th, 2016: Coastal Cleanup

  • 26 Jul Off

Heal the Planet is teaming up with Fort Lauderdale Beach Sweep and Kids Ecology Corp to celebrate Ocean Conservancy’s Coastal Cleanup day and share a little love. The oceans provide food, they affect our weather, they even play a part in the air we breathe and Heal the Planet is taking a day to honor and protect them. Join us as we come together in community and give back to one of Florida’s most valuable commodities – our shore and ocean.

Heal the Planet will be providing light refreshments and there will be clean-up tools on hand. Volunteers are needed! Students receive community service credit! Come for one hour or all four!

No pre-registration necessary. Volunteers can register upon arrival or at fortlauderdale.gov/volunteer.

Volunteers should:

-Be at least eight years old – adults must accompany minors

-Wear appropriate attire – T-shirt and shorts are acceptable

-Bring a hat, sunscreen and water

-Wear closed-toe shoes – no flip-flops

Join us on September 10th, 2016 from 7:00am – 11:00am for a fun gathering to clean up our oceans.

Location: The Hub, 300 S Fort Lauderdale Beach Blvd., at the intersection of E Las Olas Blvd. and A1A North
